NOVEMBER SELECTION

A man finds his stolen bicycle and it now belongs to a stranger. In his attempts to retrieve the bicycle, he struggles to remain human.

Music from a small world  - Musiche da un piccolo mondo -  directed by Elisa Canessa /  Italy (2020)
In a deserted Livorno, a father and daughter wander the streets. Armed with cameras and strange recording equipment, they collect sounds and images to throw into space. The real sounds, but also those of our memory. The noise of the wind and the sea, of course, but also the Intermezzo di Cavalleria Rusticana, almost evaporated from the sunny stones of our palaces. The cranes and the suggestive profiles of the harbour, Piero Ciampi but also Pink Floyd... as if the sound of their music had remained imprisoned in the stands of the stadium after the mythical concert of 1989. In every place crossed, the sound of the past blends with the sounds of our present.
A sort of time capsule, a gift from a small and distant planet for any form of extraterrestrial life that one day, who knows, might collect it... A poetic itinerary, an imaginary path through glimpses, fragments, music, poems of our city.

Who wouldn't give their all for a child? A mother sees an opportunity to escape the hardships of a life of poverty by selling her organs to a sick, very rich, elderly neighbor. And she hands over her own flesh in exchange for gold. Little by little, necessity gives way to a craving for more gold.
